PARIS — Chloé has its sights on a new eyewear partner, WWD has learned.
The French fashion house has signed a licensing agreement with New York-based Marchon Eyewear Inc. to manufacture and distribute its sun and ophthalmic collections. It said first deliveries would commence Sept. 1.
“We anticipate attracting new female customers who appreciate luxurious sunwear and eyewear,” stated Claudio Gottardi, Marchon’s president and chief executive officer.
Marchon markets eyewear under a range of brands, including Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Fendi, Jil Sander, Karl Lagerfeld, Michael Kors, Lacoste and Valentino.
Commenting on the pact, Chloé president Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye lauded Marchon’s “optical expertise and worldwide vision,” allowing its customers to enjoy “the most technically advanced and stylish eyewear.”
The collections are to be sold in Chloé boutiques, department and specialty stores, and select optical shops.
