NEW YORK — The Jones Group has signed a five-year licensing agreement with Marchon Eyewear Inc. for the production and distribution of its Nine West eyewear brand, terminating its previous license with Safilo.
The collection of ophthalmic frames and sunglasses is slated to hit stores in early January.
“The Nine West brand is sold in over 60 countries outside the U.S. today. With Marchon’s domestic and international distribution platform, we see a tremendous opportunity to optimize Nine West’s global eyewear prospects,” said Mary E. Belle, president of licensing at The Jones Group.
Prices have yet to be determined.
“We recognize [Nine West’s] commitment to providing women with on-trend, high-quality products, and we believe this will be a fantastic addition to our ever-expanding global portfolio,” said Claudio Gottardi, president and chief executive officer of Marchon.
