MILAN — Safilo and Marc Jacobs International have signed an advanced contract renewal for the design, production and worldwide distribution of both the Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs eyewear collections. The new agreement will expire on Dec. 31, 2024.
“We are extremely proud of announcing this renewed agreement, which extends our partnership and reinforces the collaboration with Marc Jacobs and the LVMH Group,” said Safilo Group chief executive officer Roberto Vedovotto. “The fact that the licensing agreement has been renewed two years before the contract’s expiring date rewards Safilo’s excellent results and our effort to keep growing especially in Asia and South America, where we still have growth potential, while consolidating the leadership in Europe and U.S..”
“Marc and I have appreciated Safilo’s collaborations over the years,” said Marc Jacobs International vice chairman and president Robert Duffy, praising Safilo’s high-quality and expertise in developing innovative products. “We are very grateful to them — if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The goal is to keep working with Safilo for many years.”
The licensing agreement was first inked in 2004.
