Non-executive board member Luisa D. Delgado will become the company’s chief executive officer October 15.

MILAN — Safilo Group’s board of directors said non-executive board member Luisa D. Delgado will become the company’s chief executive officer October 15, succeeding Roberto Vedovotto, who maintains his non-executive position on the board. Vedovotto had been ceo since 2009.

“Safilo has undergone significant changes since Roberto Vedovotto rejoined the company as ceo in January,” the company said. “The group today is on much stronger financial and operational footing, has improved its overall business performance and has strengthened its global management organization.”
