NEW YORK — Derek Lam will expand his contemporary accessories offering with a footwear collection for 10 Crosby Derek Lam.
Following the launch of bags for spring, the designer will introduce the line’s first shoe collection today for the pre-fall season though a licensing agreement with Schwartz and Benjamin (the firm will also produce footwear for Lam’s main collection starting with the spring season). Last month, former parent company Labelux sold Derek Lam International LLC back to its founders — Lam and chief executive officer Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann — after acquiring a majority stake in the company in 2008.
The 24-style 10 Crosby Derek Lam footwear collection was conceptualized with the idea of linear and diagonal colorblocking in mind — and heavily influenced by French footwear designer Maud Frizon’s prints and Charles Jourdan’s advertising campaigns from the Seventies. Retail prices will range from $295 to $395, with knee high boots going up to $575.
“I was touched by the fact that she lost her father, really before his time, and it was a real shock. She had two young children, she was married and she was expecting that she would have her own life for a good 25 years,” said Claire Foy about playing a young Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s The Crown. “It transcends the genre that is you think of a sci-fi show — you don’t expect it to be so profound or emotionally riveting,” Evan Rachel Wood told WWD of her Emmy nominated role in Westworld. styled by @samanthamcmillen_stylist 📸 @emmanmontalvan #emmys2017 #wwdeye
