TRINA TURK HANDBAGS: After diving into the shoe arena last season, Los Angeles-based designer Trina Turk is now adding handbags to the mix. The bags will make their debut at her fall ready-to-wear presentation on Feb. 7 at The Hub at The Hudson Hotel in New York.

A collaboration with Signal Brands, the bags mix Turks’ Palm Springs-inspired DNA with touches of urban-chic utility.

The collection includes Essentials day bags, such as a north-south tote with cross-body and signature TT embossed hardware option with a Seventies road-trip vibe; The Palm Springs block print, a laser-cut pattern borrowed from her jewelry collection that appears on cross-bodies and a wristlet and animal-print calf hair and leather clutch with zipper details; Luxe, the evening group of wood and resin frame clutches, and Sun, a singular canvas tote that mimics patterns from the Swim and Spa collection. The collection will retail from $158 to $598.

CHLOE GOSSELIN: Model Chloe Gosselin is launching a line of footwear under her own name on Feb. 9 in New York.

Drawing upon her art studies and European travels, Gosselin based her round-toe pump last on a vintage Fifties shoe found at a flea market in Paris. She pays homage to the iconic YSL “Le Smoking” with a black suede pump that features a contrasting white karung snakeskin heel and detail that recalls the collar of a shirt, a distinct feature of the shoe. Another key style is a suede and ostrich open vamp bootie with satin-covered button detail. Retail prices range from $600 for a leather pump to $1,200 to an exotic bootie.

HENRI LEPORE DEZERT: With two generations of craftsmen and a well-known cousin in the fashion biz, shoemaker Henri Lepore Dezert had plenty of inspiration and influence to help him hone his craft.

Growing up, he worked with his father and grandfather in their upholstery shop in Los Angeles and then came to New York to work alongside cousin Nanette Lepore. But he returned to family roots in Italy to learn the craft of shoemaking.

Lepore Dezert began designing bespoke shoes for private clients in 2010 and is launching a collection of luxury handmade shoes inspired by midcentury modern architecture commonly found around Palm Springs, Calif., which is evident in the cutout designs and multiple straps on many styles. The designer will show his inaugural collection at the Viceroy Hotel in New York on Feb. 5. Retail prices are about $1,000.

RAOUL: The Singapore-based high contemporary brand is forging into accessories for fall by partnering with Paris-based shoe designer Raphael Young, who will design handbags and a new shoe line. All the products are being produced in Italy. The design duo behind Raoul, Douglas and Odile Benjamin, said Young’s edgy-yet-sophisticated styles would complete the “total look” of Raoul.

Shoe styles include a pump-bootie in contrasting materials — like calf hair and metallic cracked leather — and bags are made from quilted leather with triangular bar hardware as a signature detail.

The collection will launch Feb. 6 at the Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center. Retail prices range from $450 to $700 for shoes and $395 to $700 for bags.

PLUMA ACCESSORIES:
Stylist-turned-designer Brendon Cannon will launch a namesake line of costume jewelry for fall, after having tested the waters with a capsule collection for Jason Wu and designing a spring collection that never made it to production.

The line, which will be available on the brand’s Web site, pluma-italia.com, starting in early March, was born from his work for T-Project Inc., a production consulting firm. While helping to connect designers such as Mathieu Mirano to Italian factories that produce jewelry for houses including Armani, Prada and Gucci, Cannon decided to design a line himself.

Using the “chic sensuality of an Italian woman” as an aesthetic guide, the jewelry is made from brass, resin, leather and enamel and combines classic design elements and bold details for a graphic effect. Retail prices range from $150 to $900.
