London designer Betty Jackson believes accessories are a valuable way to widen consumers’ access to her brand during the downturn.

For fall, Jackson will debut a stand-alone accessories line, filled with ankle boots, belts, wallets, slouchy tote bags and clutch purses in natural materials from fuzzy wool to soft leather and velvet. The designer has also tapped Alexis Bittar to design earrings and necklaces made from delicate, interlinking Lucite circles in pink, silver and green, which she showed on her fall 2009 runway.

Wholesale prices for the accessories line will start at 31 pounds, or $45 at current exchange, for a leather belt and run to 240 pounds, or $351, for a pair of knee-high leather and wool boots.

KHIRMA ELIAZOV

Stylist and former fashion editor Khirma Eliazov is turning her passion for accessories into an eponymous handbag line launching for fall. The sevenstyle collection is made with luxurious materials, such as Italian calfskin, matte python and canvas, and features distinctive, handwoven leather handles and zipper pulls in addition to custom-designed gold-plated brass hardware, an identifying feature.

The bags — which will retail from $180 for a wallet to $2,200 for an oversize shopper — are made in Brooklyn, N.Y.

LOUIS QUATORZE

Out to woo new clients from the European and American markets, Paris-based accessories line Louis Quatorze, which is owned by Korean firm TaeJin International, recently created a local team to produce a made-in-Europe Louis Quatorze line to parallel the brand’s South Korean offerings. The resulting midrange collection includes silk scarves made in Italy, gloves made by Morand in France and glass jewelry made in Germany — all designed by illustrator and bag designer Pierre-Louis Mascia — with a few men’s bags sprinkled into the mix. Prices range from $60 for a leather card holder to $1,720 for a crocodile clutch.

ACNE

Swedish jeans brand Acne is making the jump into fine jewelry. Designed in collaboration with the award-winning German goldsmith Michael Zobel, the collection features oversized cuffs and rings made from satinated 18-karat gold and inset with semiprecious stones and minerals. Cuffs retail for up to 15,000 pounds, or $21,500 at current exchange, and will be sold at Browns in London.
