MILAN — Etro has brought production and distribution of its footwear collections for men and women back in-house.
Jacopo Etro, global communications vice president and creative director of the Etro Accessories and Leather, Home and Textile collections, will be responsible for the line, while creative directors Veronica and Kean Etro will coordinate the women’s and men’s design teams, respectively.
The new collections, manufactured by combining artisanal craftsmanship and high-end technology, will offer a wide range of options, spanning from formal styles to casual shapes, including a line of luxury sneakers.
According to the company, the decision to take direct control of the shoe line is aimed at guaranteeing maximum quality and boosting Etro’s shoe business.
The brand’s footwear collections were previously manufactured by Kallisté and distributed by Massimo Bonini.
The first fruits of the new course will be showcased from May 14, when Etro will open the sale campaign of both its women’s cruise and the men’s spring/summer 2015 collections.
