Salvatore Ferragamo is taking a bigger slice of Texas.

The brand officially reopened its Houston boutique at The Galleria on Tuesday, almost doubling its space to 4,000 square feet.
“Houston is a significant market for Ferragamo, so it was important we expanded the store in size and increased the product offering to include runway collection, timepieces, and a wider variation of shoes, handbags, ready-to-wear, silks and eyewear,” said Vincent Ottomanelli, president of Ferragamo USA. “The new renovation embodies an increased use of limestone and walnut paneling, creating a warmer and more luxurious feeling throughout the store.”
Ottomanelli described The Galleria boutique as one of the Italian firm’s most productive stores in a retail network that includes 550 points of sale globally. The store is projected to generate annual sales of $7 million to $8 million.
“The Houston client is interested in fashionable investment pieces and understands and appreciates the qualities that define the Ferragamo house: quality, style, craftsmanship and innovation,” Ottomanelli said.
To celebrate the opening, the boutique featured a temporary installation Tuesday night of the company’s most iconic styles from its 13,000-style archive at an event to benefit the University of Texas’ M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Ferragamo’s Creations, a line of limited edition shoes and handbags inspired by the archival accessories, will be available for purchase until Sunday. The collection, launched in 2006, is typically in only a small number of Ferragamo stores, including units in Florence, Capri, Paris, New York and Ginza.
