What’s old really is new again. The famed fashion house is dipping into its archives for a limited edition collection of iconic styles. Among them, a four-inch sexy red stiletto, which was made for Marilyn Monroe; a ballet slipper designed for Audrey Hepburn, and a gold mosaic platform created for Carmen Miranda. To mimic the originals, each style will be reproduced by hand with the same leathers and design techniques.
The collection, dubbed Ferragamo Creations, will sell from $600 for a ballet flat to $5,400 for an alligator pump at the house’s New York flagship (212.759.3822) beginning in March, and at Ferragamo Creations boutiques in Milan, Paris, Tokyo, Beijing and Florence. Only 50 pairs of each style will be available worldwide. Additions to the Creations collection will be made twice a year, so there will always be something new again.
“I was touched by the fact that she lost her father, really before his time, and it was a real shock. She had two young children, she was married and she was expecting that she would have her own life for a good 25 years,” said Claire Foy about playing a young Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s The Crown. “It transcends the genre that is you think of a sci-fi show — you don’t expect it to be so profound or emotionally riveting,” Evan Rachel Wood told WWD of her Emmy nominated role in Westworld. styled by @samanthamcmillen_stylist 📸 @emmanmontalvan #emmys2017 #wwdeye
