Vegas isn’t the only casino town where shoppers can get lucky. Those once-seedy, once-sleepy resorts in New Jersey and Connecticut are now playing host to some superluxe names. One sure bet for shoe lovers is The Pier Shops at Caesars in Atlantic City, a three-and-a-half story structure built over the boardwalk that has more than a dozen coveted names including Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Michael Kors and Stuart Weitzman.

“In Atlantic City, the tables either play your way or they don’t,” says Weitzman, who suggests retail therapy as an antidote for those whose luck has run out.

And if a visit to the Jersey Shore isn’t in the cards, try Mashantucket, Conn. The Foxwoods Resort & Casino and its soon-to-open sister resort, the posh MGM Grand at Foxwoods, are upping their luxury status with new or newly renovated shops for Bally, Bulgari, Dunhill and Gretta Luxe.
