They’re two of American fashion’s marquee names, but Stefani Greenfield, owner of Scoop boutiques, and footwear superstar Stuart Weitzman are also good friends and frequent collaborators on product exclusive to her stores. Here, the two dish on fashion, celebrity and why individualism is so important.
Stefani Greenfield: You design both shoes and bags,but which is really the “It” item? Stuart Weitzman: Shoes. They didn’t make “Sex and the City” about bags, did they? There’s no one “It” shoe. You can look as great in a flat as you can in a heel. Women are wearing exactly what they want. S.G.: So individuality is big? S.W.: That’s what drives fashion today. Designers aren’t afraid to design anything because we know women will wear it. S.G.: I’m a shoe fanatic. S.W.: I could build fi ve lines from what’s in your closet! Who are you wearing for fall? S.G.: Pedro Garcia, Christian Louboutin, Pierre Hardy—and I’m obsessing over fl ats with drapy trousers. S.W.: I’ll believe that when I see it—you’re never out of a 4-inch heel. S.G.: And who is your celebrity muse of the moment? S.W.: Kate Hudson. S.G.: I’m obsessed with all the Kates: Bosworth, Hudson, Beckinsale. S.W.: Some people say pants are in and the dress is out. Is that true? S.G.: Nothing is dead or alive. There are just always great new categories. But who am I to say what’s in or out? I walked in here with my dress on backwards. S.W.: We both love resort retail spots. Where’s your next dream location for Scoop? S.G.: Wherever women celebrate being women, like London or Brazil. Los Angeles will definitely happen at some point, and I’ve been pushing for a store in New Orleans, where some proceeds would go to Katrina victims. S.W.: So why do you think our partnership works so well? S.G.: Our customers get the “wow and the now” because it’s Scoop, and amazing quality because you made it. S.W.: As long as we’re having a good time, we’ll keep it going. S.G.: Even if we don’t, it doesn’t mean we can’t have dinner. S.W.: Are you calling me out because I haven’t taken you to dinner? S.G.: Why haven’t you taken me? I’m a good time.

In his new book “Hollywood Royale,” Andy Warhol’s Protégé Matthew Rolston celebrates the Eighties revival of Hollywood glamour. Featuring more than 100 portraits taken by Rolston from 1977 to 1993, the book contains photos of icons like Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, and @drewbarrymore, pictured here in 1991. “Hollywood Royale,” out today, will be accompanied by an exhibition opening at Los Angeles’ Fahey/Klein Gallery on March 1. #wwdeye

25-year-old @samweaving is about to break out this fall, starring in Netflix’s horror film “The Babysitter,” fittingly out today on Friday the 13th. Located in the Seagram Building, it’s the famed architect’s first restaurant project in New York, serving up modern Japanese brasserie-style cuisine.
