Hunter Boot Makes Management Moves

The British accessories firm has appointed a new global design director, a chief financial officer, an online director and a global communications director.

Hunter Boot Ltd., the British rain boot and accessories firm, has beefed up its senior management team.

Niall Sloan has been tapped as global design director. He will oversee the development and design of all product categories. For the past 10 years, Sloan has been with Burberry, most recently as senior women’s wear designer for Burberry Prorsum. His first collection for Hunter will be for fall 2014.

Ken Pratt has joined the firm as chief financial officer. Most recently, he was cfo of Signet UK, having spent 10 years with Liz Claiborne, establishing and leading its European apparel operations and overseeing its merger with Mexx.

Dan Lumb has been named online director, overseeing all global online functions for Hunter and the continued development of its e-commerce business. Most recently, Lumb was director of e-commerce at Reiss, where he launched their global Web site and drove significant growth in their e-commerce business.

In addition, Ali Lowry has been named global communications director. Earlier, Lowry was with Giorgio Armani, where he oversaw U.K. public relations and marketing activity.

These moves follow the naming in February of Alasdhair Willis as creative director and Fabrizio Stroppa as commercial sales director, as well as the appointment of James Seuss as chief executive officer last December.

In 2012, funds managed by Searchlight Capital Partners L.P. became majority shareholders in Hunter.
