NEW YORK — Rather than turn to an emerging designer or celebrity, Nine West’s next collaboration is with another retailer — Kirna Zabête.
The Jones Group Inc.-owned brand is teaming up with Kirna Zabête owners Sarah Easley and Beth Buccini for a six-month shoe collaboration. Kirna Zabête at Nine West will kick off in February and feature monthly shoe groups comprising high-heel, midheel, flat and flip-flop designs.
“I have always been obsessed with Kirna Zabête, as Beth and Sarah’s curated assortment each season celebrates the best in designer fashion with a consistent point of view,” said Stefani Greenfield, chief creative officer of The Jones Group, herself a former retailer having founded Scoop.
Styles from the collaboration will be priced at retail from $49 to $169, and sold at select Nine West stores, Ninewest.com, Kirna Zabête, Kirnazabete.com and several select online partners.
Kirna Zabête is the latest in a string of design collaborations at Nine West, which have included Pamela Love, Fiona Kotur, Sophie Theallet, Giles Deacon, Joss Stone and Kate Ciepluch. Easley and Buccini recently amped up their profile when they partnered with Target on a limited run women’s ready-to-wear collection. Footwear is new to their repertoire. “We’ve never designed shoes before,” Easley said. “And yet we always get dressed from the ground up,” Buccini added.
Yesterday, the Parisian fashion house @azzaro_official cut the ribbon on a temeporary retrospective at the wing of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The exhibition, which shows the lasting influence of the brand’s founder Loris Azzaro, is titled “Azzaro, Fifty Sparkling Years” and presents 50 looks. In it’s ’70s heyday, fans of the brand included Jane Birkin, pictured here, Raquel Welch, Brigitte Bardot and more. See more photos on WWD.com #wwdfashion

The Trina Turk x INC line will launch on May 15th. #wwdfashion
