Rick Paterno, group president of footwear at The Jones Group Inc., has resigned his post.

Richard Dickson, president and chief executive officer of branded businesses at Jones, told WWD, “Rick is a respected force in the shoe industry and made a significant impact at The Jones Group. Paterno, whose successor has not been named, was appointed group president in 2010. He joined the Nine West Group at Jones in 2008 as president of wholesale better footwear brands, responsible for Nine West, Bandolino, Enzo Angiolini, Circa Joan & David, AK Anne Klein, Boutique 9 and Easy Spirit. Before joining Jones, he was president and ceo of The Rockport Co., and earlier was president of Easy Spirit.
Paterno was traveling and unavailable for comment.
