NEO-NOMAD: Taking the Bedouin philosophy of carrying your worldly possessions with you as its inspiration, Bara Boux is presenting its first bag collection in Paris. Creative director Reema Bandar Al Saud, a Saudi Arabian princess and chief executive officer of Alfa & Al Hama Group — franchisee for Harvey Nichols in Riyadh — is behind this collection of lamb’s leather and canvas pouches, handbags, totes, shoppers and evening clutches.
The pouches are designed to hold everyday items and clip or pop into larger bags to save time for women on the move. Bara Boux is targeting high-end specialty stores or boutiques and plans to begin distribution in the Middle East and Europe, before expanding to further markets including the U.S. from next year. Wholesale prices range from 110 euros for a leather and canvas pouch to 390 euros for an evening bag, or $147.80 and $524 at current exchange.
