Everyone loves a good movie, and with a reel playing Sixties and Seventies favorites — “The Thomas Crown Affair,” “Breathless,” “Ciao Manhattan” — it was fitting that bags of popcorn and boxes of Junior Mints were served at Kate Spade’s fall collection. In an ode to the decades’ strong women and Hollywood glamour, polished shapes were key: oversize patent clutches, color-blocked shoulder bags and, of course, plenty of smart totes. Meanwhile, satin florals and leopard prints added a playful element to evening. “We’re in transition,” said new co-president and creative director Deborah Lloyd. “Kate Spade has an amazing DNA. We plan to keep it looking fresh and modern.”
