Six years into her gig at Gucci and creative director Frida Giannini claims she hasn’t even “made a dent” in the company’s rich design archives. “I feel so lucky to work for a brand with this incredible resource,” she says. “You can find anything from any decade in any incarnation. It is spectacular and intimidating at the same time.”

Whether or not Giannini gets to the bottom of the veritable Italian supercloset, she has already drawn on a wealth of inspiration for the Gucci Heritage collection. The lineup includes five different handbag styles, including the Jackie hobo and the signature Bamboo satchel, done in lush exotics such as crocodile, ostrich and python and a vintage botanical print dubbed Leonardo. Luggage and small leather goods round out the line.
