- ANG GETS BUTLER LICENSE: Butler Bag has signed an agreement with Accessory Network Group to design, manufacture and distribute handbags to specialty, midtier and mass retailers beginning for this holiday season. Butler Bag, a Philadelphia-based company founded by Jen Groover, had made its bags in-house for the past two years. Wholesale prices for the bags range from $9 to $26, and the collection includes totes, satchels and clutches in materials such as nylon, PVC and canvas. ANG also makes handbags and accessories for companies such as Karl Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein and Tahari.
- BERNS UPS STAFF: Berns Communications Group LLC, headed by Stacy Berns, is staffing up to support its growing client base. The firm named Jessica Liddell senior vice president for developing and implementing corporate positioning and visibility programs; Amy Kover as vice president for conceptualizing stories for clients, and Laura Ruben director of administration. Prior to joining Berns, Liddell was with The Abernathy MacGregor Group Inc., Kover was a financial journalist at Fortune, The New York Times and Smart Money, and Ruben was at Bear Stearns and Morgen-Walke.
