Tod’s is synonymous with classic Italian style, thus the house’s theme for spring, “Italian Attraction,” was a fitting approach. The collection, presented with clips from iconic Italian-centric films such as “La Dolce Vita” and “I Am Love” looping in the background, kept to Tod’s heritage. For his last season with the brand (a successor has yet to be named), creative director Derek Lam revamped the iconic D bags in softer shapes, working them in dégradé python skin in shades of sea blues and greens. The “ballerina” was also key, but unlike the name’s suggestion, the shoes were set on a medium-heel wedge with leather and suede huarache-style uppers. A striped slipper flat was also introduced — a smart move since the silhouette is quickly becoming a wardrobe staple.
