Since the April launch of the latest cult must-have, the iPad, fashion houses have been in a case race to come up with the most stylish holder.

There was a time when electronic gadgets were only for the flannel-and-suspender-clad tech-savvy crowd. Now, even fashionistas count themselves among the digitally addicted, who constantly need to stay connected through e-mail, blogs and social networks.

 

Since the April launch of the latest cult must-have, the iPad, fashion houses have been in a case race to come up with the most stylish holder.

 

There are those who stuck to tradition, like Valextra, which offers a sophisticated monochrome leather version ($740), while Valentino duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli went for rock ‘n’ roll by putting metal studs along the border ($485.50). Trussardi, on the other hand, went the extra mile by devoting an entire collection to the iPad, starring a leopard-print ponyskin edition ($362.50), perfect for survival in the 2.0 jungle.
