ShedRain Promotes Jeff Blauer

The family-owned umbrella maker promotes Bauer to president and chief operating officer spot.

Jeff Blauer has been named president and chief operating officer of U.S. umbrella maker ShedRain.
Blauer, who will report to chief executive officer and chairman Stan Blauer, is responsible for managing the general activities of the company, as well as continuing to oversee business development and expansion.
Most recently, the new president and chief operating officer served as executive vice president of business development at the 64-year-old company.

Blauer began his career as a national sales manager for specialty accounts with Calvin Klein. He became a senior account manager at CK before leaving to join Christian Dior as a regional sales representative.  He later held a similar position at Alexander Julian.

Based in Portland, Ore., the umbrella vendor markets its brand through retailers, including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, and makes private label brands for Brookstone, Eddie Bauer, Banana Republic, L.L. Bean, Timberland and the Gap.
