Danielle and Jodie Snyder are the sisters behind DanniJo, a new jewelry line that combines a dash of rock ’n’ roll with a touch of Audrey Hepburn-chic. According to the sisters, their overall approach to jewelry design is “to incorporate meaning into each collection…using our passion and talent to bring attention to philanthropic endeavors.” They launched their first collection to raise funds for Living With a Lifelong Ambition, or LWALA, an organization Danielle founded to involve young people in fund-raising efforts for worthy causes. In one night, the collection raised $45,000 for the group’s namesake village, Lwala, Kenya. The Snyders use earthy, natural-looking sterling silvers, 18-karat gold, rhodium, silver, oxidized silver and rose gold to create handmade, custom pieces that offer many wearable options. The Grecian Goddess necklace from their Padme collection, for example, can be worn as a choker necklace or lariat, a halter strap for a dress, a halo headband, a purse handle, a mini belt or even a scarf clip. DanniJo price points range from $185 for a pair of Gatsby quartz studs to a multithreaded chain mail necklace for $650. Their collections are sold at Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, Curve, Poppy and Otte in New York, among other high-end outlets.
