Andrea Hansen, the former chief executive officer of Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry, has been named president of Bochic Group Inc.
Before departing for Paris Fashion Week Thursday, Hansen told WWD that the post is newly created, and she will help grow the company’s namesake fine jewelry brand, as well as Miriam Salat, its high-end fashion jewelry line.
“I have always admired what David has done for Bochic,” she said, referring to the brand’s cofounder, David Joseph. “David had called me years ago, and we started talking shop. There’s a lot of demand for the jewelry.”
Hansen declined to comment on how long the move was in the works. She left Ivanka Trump in June after three years on the job, and cited the desire to spend more time with her family at the time as a reason for her departure.
She did, however, offer that she was attracted to Bochic because “there’s clarity in how they run the two businesses.”
As part of her first mandate, Hansen will take meetings with editors in Paris, and attend Bochic’s presentation there. She added that she plans to show the brand at New York Fashion Week in 2013 — around the same time the company will start ramping up production of its namesake line and put growth objectives in place for both divisions.
“After seven years of sustained growth that firmly established our brands both domestically and internationally, we’re entering a new phase with exciting opportunities that will demand strong leadership on all levels,” said Joseph, who started the New York-based company with his wife, Miriam Salat, in 2004. Salat subsequently launched her own brand, which is known for colorful stackable resin bangle bracelets.
