Delfina Delettrez presented her delightful jewelry collection at the Almine Rech Gallery in the Marais district, displaying the pieces on plates suspended in air by high-powered magnets expelling the opposite force. The idea played back to Delettrez’s gems that were meant to “float” on the wearer: An ombré pearl-set ring sat across three fingers with an invisible setting; A gemstone-and-pearl earring appeared to rest atop the lobe because of an invisible setting.
The designer also played with the idea of time by creating what looked like faceted watch faces out of cut-rock quartz pieces in purple, green and orange placed on one side of a stark metallic bracelet; other versions were featured on both a leather and chain-link watch. “The absence of time ensures that you are never too late,” said Delettrez, referring to the mechanic-less watches.
To add to the surrealistic nature of the collection, cocktails and sweets were served in makeup containers — mojitos were sipped from roll-on lip glosses while Nutella-like mousse was sucked from makeup tubes.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
