Iman had to travel only as far as her own closet to seek inspiration for her new accessories collection."I collect vintage jewelry and I'm lucky enough to be married to a rich man who can buy it for me," Iman said.The wife of rock legend David Bowie and mother of two already has a cosmetics company, and on Saturday will launch Global Chic, a collection of handbags and jewelry, on the Home Shopping Network and on hsn.com."When I thought about doing the collection, I asked myself, 'What must I have for me?'" Iman said. "I have a busy life. I need something that can take me from an evening out with a rock star to a PTA meeting to playing ball with the big boys in the cosmetics industry. And it always came back to accessories. They are the things that change a wardrobe immediately."The jewelry — retailing from $19.95 to $59.95 — is inspired by Iman's own pieces. Two rings are replicas of her most precious baubles: one being an 8-carat Fred Leighton stunner that Bowie gave her in June for their 15th wedding anniversary, and the other, the ruby and diamond engagement ring Bowie bought in Florence.Other pieces include gold bangles, giant cocktail rings and wooden cuffs — the designs of which are all derived from tribal, exotic locales.Global Chic handbags also feature an ethnic aesthetic and were produced in partnership with the Accessory Network Group. Retailing from $49.95 to $129.95, the collection includes three styles, ranging from a classic envelope clutch to a trendier, oversize embossed crocodile bag."I wanted to bring an artisanal feel to the bags yet keep them modern and wearable," Iman said. "It's important to know about trends, but if it doesn't fit into your lifestyle, then there is no point."Iman's Global Chic collection also includes a fake fur stole and a day planner that features quotes, fashion tips and hot shopping spots around the U.S.
