SPIRIT OF SHARING: France-based jewelry designer Axel Juret Jumahong is opening up his Junlon boutique, in a passage off Paris’ prestigious Rue Royale, to new designers.
The China-born designer recently welcomed Russian jeweler Fazulyanov Ilgiz, with his nature-inspired Art Nouveau enamel and semi-precious stone creations, to the store’s offer.
Ilgiz is the only other jeweler to share the space, alongside Jumahong’s oriental designs as well as a small selection of sculpture, accessories and leather goods. “I like to open the store to small brands that are not yet well known,” he said. “I choose everything that is beautiful.” Ilgiz’s one-off creations retail for between 12,000 euros and 100,000 euros, or $15,469 and $128,909 at current exchange.
For the Junlon brand, Jumahong revealed that he will unveil a new boutique in the revamped Ritz, where it was present before the hotel closed for renovation, when it reopens in 2014.
