For his latest limited-edition Rendez-Vous collection for Roger Vivier, Bruno Frisoni dipped into the Fifties, looking to the brand founder’s passion for collage and Henri Matisse’s famous paper cutouts.
Frisoni’s colorful collection employed multiple crafts like marquetry and embroidery to create an abstract effect. The Miss Viv bag, reinterpreted as a brightly painted envelope clutch and a woven raffia hold-all, played a starring role. Shoes, meanwhile, were adorned with cutout crocodile skin evoking seaweed that covered half of the foot. Silhouettes included a stiletto with a sphere heel and a new interpretation of the Virgule as a wedge. Modernist gilded metal jewelry featuring bright ceramic baubles completed the collection.
