Delvaux Taps Christina Zeller

Belgian accessories firm appoints product and merchandising director.

PARIS — Luxury Belgian leather goods brand Delvaux has appointed Christina
Zeller as product and merchandising director. She will also sit on the firm’s executive board.

Delvaux said the house’s new owner, Fung Brands Limited, the privately held investment firm headed by Jean-Marc Loubier, is recruiting new talent to achieve its ambitious development objectives.

“Her arrival is crucial in the development of our brand name,” stated Christian Salez, Delvaux’s chief executive officer, lauding her “real understanding of our products and a taste for elegance and luxury.”

Zeller has held key accessories posts at Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Lacroix and most recently Givenchy, where she was director of the accessories for the brand’s business unit from 1999 to 2010.

Firmly established on its home turf, with 16 stores across Belgium, Delvaux recently began edging out onto the international stage by establishing exclusive partnerships with retailers such as I.T. in China, Barneys New and Le Bon Marché in Paris.

In March 2010 in Paris, Delvaux staged a fashion show-style presentation of its bag collection under the artistic direction of Veronique Branquinho, who is expected to part ways with the house at the end of the year after a five-season stint.
