Accessories designer Karuna Balloo comes by her love of flowers naturally: She’s the daughter of a gardener. Balloo specializes in crafting vintage couture fabrics into vivid flower pins, using a technique that blends ancient Japanese origami traditions with traditional French techniques for making artificial flowers. Her most recent collection was inspired by “a month in the sun” in Mauritius, where she was born. “The island,” Balloo says, “was bursting with life.”
