Two decades ago, designer Kate Spade created a boxy satin bag called Sam that became an accessories sensation. The signature shape has grown to include quirky animal themes, cheerful basket bags and exotic pythons.

Kate Spade has since grown into a lifestyle brand, steadily adding to the family of accessories with shoes, launched in 2000, eyewear, launched in 2001, jewelry in 2008 and watches in 2012 — all of which stay true to the brand’s playful retro spirit.
