Breitling is bringing it home. In honoring its 125th birthday, the watch company is producing its latest watch entirely in-house. The new Caliver B01 Chronograph is the first Breitling timepiece to be produced under the roof of its own Swiss factory, as opposed to outsourcing its movements.
“With any project that involves technology, this process began over five years ago,” said Marie Bodman, president at Breitling USA. “A specialized team of engineers was selected and experts from other hightech disciplines like the medical field were chosen for the development of this movement and its complex revolutionary production path.”
The Caliber B01 is bowing at Basel and will hit its 30 U.S. retailers in May. Prices were not available. In continuing the celebration, Breitling is also issuing the Navitimer 125th Anniversaire, a watch that best represents the firm’s connection to the world of aviation. The watch retails from $6,450 for the steel model to $27,000 for the red gold style.
