Butterflies are free…the watch, not so much. This creation from Harry Winston’s “Premier Feathers” collection features a butterfly wing dial that looks uncannily real. It is, in fact, made from pigments harvested from the wings of real butterflies, a process the company says took more than three years to perfect. Once extracted, the pigment is painted on the dial to reflect the pattern of the real butterfly wing. Available in a limited edition, the 2.47-carat diamond bezel and 18-karat white gold and satin-strap watches start at $41,500 with no two watches alike — just as in nature.
