PARIS — Aldo Magada has been named president and chief executive officer of Zenith, effective July 1, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton confirmed on Tuesday. The Swiss national will succeed Jean-Frédéric Dufour, who left the watch brand to become ceo of Rolex.
Magada is a graduate of Lausanne University and La Jolla University in San Diego, California.
He began his career in watches in 1984 with Swatch Group, going on to become head of product development and marketing director at Piaget and Omega from 1994 to 1998. There, he worked alongside Jean-Claude Biver, who took over in March as president of the watches division at LVMH.
In 2000, Magada became became president of Gucci Timepieces. Between 2002 and 2009, he managed Technomarine, Reuge and Badollet before creating his own consultancy. He has been director of international sales and business development at Breitling since 2010.
