Seiko Corporation of America has named Yosh Kawada president and chief executive officer.
Kawada succeeds Kenji Hagiwara. He previously was senior vice president of the U.S. division. In his new role, Kawada will also serve as senior vice president for Seiko Watch Corp. in Tokyo. He joined the company in 1985 in Tokyo on the Pulsar team, splitting his time over the next 28 years between Tokyo, the U.S. and Hong Kong.
As ceo of Seiko America, Kawada will oversee growth strategies for all the brands in its portfolio, including Seiko watches, Seiko clocks, Pulsar watches and XNY watches.
Hagiwara will relocate to Tokyo, where he was appointed senior executive director of Seiko Clock, Inc.
