Tag Heuer has named Cristiano Ronaldo its latest brand ambassador. The soccer star joins Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Maria Sharapova, Formula One world champion Jenson Button, World Rally Champion Sébastien Ogier and the entire crew of 2013 America’s Cup winner Oracle Team USA, who all also hold the brand ambassador title. “We share exactly the same determination to totally change the game, push the limits and make our own rules,” Ronaldo said of the partnership. Ronaldo, a two-time Ballon d’Or winner, is a forward on Real Madrid, as well as captain of the Portugal team for the upcoming World Cup. Tag Heuer has a long signed sports stars, however Ronaldo marks their first foray into “footballers.” “It’s a perfect fit to do that with Cristiano,” said Tag Heuer chief executive officer Stéphane Linder. “It’s opening a new trend and a new way to engage with our fans.”
