PARIS — In conceiving the hairstyle for Haider Ackermann, Eugene Souleiman had in mind a “confused girl.”

He added: “There’s a kind of strength to the way she looks but also an internal fragility – and that’s where the veil comes in,” he said backstage, referring to some tresses that were left hanging over parts of models’ faces.

Otherwise, he fashioned a ponytail, then a French twist and left a victory roll at the front of heads.

Souleiman used Wella products, including Ocean Spritz and Perfect Setting.

Stephane Marais, working with MAC Cosmetics, focused on models’ eyes, over which he painted dark wings speckled with black glitter, for texture and “sophistication.”

He added of the look: “It’s a bit punk.”
