PARIS — To create the look at Balmain that he described as “fresh,” makeup artist Tom Pecheux gave models slightly rosy cheeks, filled in their eyebrows a tad, and applied highlighter around peepers.

Hairstylist Sam McKnight crafted a braid at the back of their heads and meandering, low-dipping side parts.

He said the starting point for the hairdo was some photographs of Sade from the Eighties, and then that evolved into something more natural, “a more how-the-models-would-do-it-themselves look.”
