Cosmetic Executive Women celebrated 20 years of its annual CEW Beauty Insiders’ Choice Awards with brand winners big and small. The fact that L’Oréal Paris won 11 awards was not a surprise to Carlotta Jacobson, president of CEW, although she noted it was a mixed bag because the indies were not forgotten. Newcomer Glamglow took home the awards for Indie Brand and Eye Treatment Prestige.

“People [say] there’s no innovation, there’s nothing new happening,” said Jacobson. “But there is. There’s always something. It’s just that you can’t come out with something that’s so revolutionary that you’ve never heard of such a thing. It’s the mixture that makes innovation. It’s not just a product someone discovered.”
