“It’s a gorgeous, simple, Nineties face,” said Lucia Pieroni, lead makeup artist and creative director for Clé de Peau Beauté. “The polished element is the strong mouth and the eyebrow.” Using Luminizing Face Enhancer and Brilliant Enhancer, Pieroni created a healthy glow, which she alluded to as “Nineties skin.” The eyes were highlighted with Satin Eye Color in Rose Gold and Bronze and brows were brushed up to give the allusion of a strong thick brow. The standout ingredient consisted of mixing two shades of Extra Rich Lipstick. Mister Lincoln and Tuscany were applied to the lips, revealing a demi matte texture.
Steering clear of creating a polished hairdo, Paul Hanlon, lead hairstylist for Moroccan Oil, focused on creating a style that didn’t look “too done.” “This time, for me, it looks a lot more real,” said Hanlon. “A lot more believable.” Hanlon began by creating a center part. He prepped the hair by wetting it and applying Volumizing Mousse. Then, he dried it off with a hair dryer and used his hands to lightly twist the hair in big sections to give it some natural movement. Next, Hanlon lightly curled the hair with an iron to create more of a wave. To keep the textural motion in place, he sprayed Luminous Hairspray Medium to make it look as if there wasn’t any product in the hair. Hanlon separated the hair’s texture so that it interacted with the face and fell off the shoulders. “It’s about beautiful, quality hair,” explained Hanlon, “but at the same time not too bourgeois.”
Jin Soon, using her own brand of nail polish in Auspicious, executed the nails to complement Wang’s Collection.
