PARIS — For hair and makeup at Carven, inspiration was culled from women travelers from the turn of last century and the Art Deco movement.

Polaroid snaps of such women are seeped in sepia and beige tones, which is why hairstylist Romina Manenti opted to use touches of such colors in models’ coifs.

“We’re going to put a red in the brunette and beige in the blond,” explained Manenti, adding she utilized Bumble and bumble products.

Makeup artist Sam Bryant said she pictured a Victorian lady who was “transported somewhere very crazy and exotic – and way out of her comfort zone.

Bryant kept models’ eyebrows unkempt. Using MAC Cosmetics products, she brushed Brit Wit on models’ cheeks, Sculpting Cream Richly Honed around eyes and rubbed Tea Petal in the middle of lips.
