“There’s a nod to theatrical makeup,” said makeup artist Pat McGrath backstage before Valentino.

“They talked about operatic divas,” chimed in hairstylist Guido Palau. McGrath put a brown metallic-toned shadow on models’ eyelids, applied mascara to their top lashes, concealed brows and gave them a light golden shimmer on top.

Palau said the hair was “very beautiful, a little bit more severe than usual.”

He incorporated into the coif, featuring a low ponytail, a brown headband with metallic design details. Redken Satinwear 02 and Forceful 23 were key products used.

“She’s the same Valentino girl… but she’s in another kind of mood — which is a little bit more austere and severe,” continued Palau.
