PARIS — “Minimal of minimal of minimal” was how makeup artist Tom Pecheux described the beauty look at Balmain.

“Basically, we’re not doing any makeup; we are doing a spa treatment today,” he said backstage before the show, where he was working with MAC Cosmetics.

Pecheux focused on skin care, giving models facial massages and, if needed, a dot or two of concealer.Lips got a lash of Chapstick.

“The only fantasy is we’re curling the lashes and brushing the eyebrows,” he added. “The girls look very fresh, very happy.”

Hairstylist Sam McKnight called the ultra-natural coif— involving tresses left hanging — “no-hairdo hair.”
