PARIS — Makeup artist Peter Phillips encircled models’ eyes with a golden highlight at Dries Van Noten. Otherwise, he used no mascara or blush. Phillips said the look was natural with some subtle references to the collection, including gold-colored accessories.

“[Van Noten] wanted something really fresh, something really new,” said Phillips.

Paul Hanlon explained the designer liked the idea of no products being used in models’ hair to achieve their textured ponytails, held with a gold-colored clasp created specifically for the show.

One side of the ponytail was made slightly lower than the other.

“Every girl is different,” said Hanlon.
