Inspiration for makeup at the Burberry Prorsum show came from the brand’s most iconic style.
“We’re trying to incorporate all the colors of the trench coat – toffees and butterscotches. The idea is to make it look like there is no makeup,” said Wendy Rowe, who headed up the makeup team backstage. “We’re working the products into the skin so the graduation of color is really slight.”
Rowe used Shu Uemura foundation, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, MAC Paint Stick in Deep Brown and Christian Dior eyeliner to achieve the look.
Neil Moodie also took an understated tack for hair. “It’s unassumingly sexy,” he said. “The idea is she’s had a blowdry a few days ago so now the hair is lived in but it has maintained its shape.”
Moodie dried center-parted hair using a diffuser and Bumble and bumble Tonic Lotion and Styling Creme. To finish he misted shine spray over some areas of the hair. “It feels polished but not completely finished,” he said.
