PARIS – Models’ tresses were upswept and styled into various iterations of bud shapes prior to the Christian Dior haute couture show Monday.

“The hairstyle was to look like flowers about to bloom,” said hairstylist Orlando Pita backstage, adding there were five variations of the coif.

Makeup took a geometric tack.

“John [Galliano] talked about super modern, super bold shapes and bright colors found on the clothing,” said makeup artist Pat McGrath. “They’re not matching. It’s super powerful.”

Models’ peepers popped with vivid colors – such as juxtapositions of blue, green and purple or orange, blue and yellow – applied in bold shapes like rectangles. A darkish hue coated mouths.
