Backstage at the Cynthia Rowley show Friday evening, hairstylist Rita Marmor for Redken went for a textured look. She suggested second-day hair works best to create the style, which she started by securing hair into a high ponytail at the back of the head, and tying another elastic at the bottom of the ponytail. She then tucked the bottom part under to create an undone bun of sorts. The front was teased and hairspray was used to fine-tune little pieces strategically pulled out. For the face, makeup artist Charlotte Willer, working for Maybelline New York, created a sultry evening look. She began with a base of foundation and powder — “It’s flawless. It feels silky.”
Then using a brown shade from ExpertWear Eyeshadow quad in Chai Latte, she dabbed the color on the lid and accented it with white and yellow gold tones. She then lined eyes with a black pencil. Cheeks were free of color and lips soft in a coral tone.
