Space Age beauty defined the look at Donna Karan.
Charlotte Tilbury, working with MAC Cosmetics at the show, ensured “gorgeous, fresh skin” by prepping faces with MAC’s Studio Moisture Cream and adding Studio Finish concealer where needed. Next, she created a “futuristic, slightly punky” eye look by lining the upper and lower rims with Phone Number, a gunmetal gray eye pencil, and blending it toward the brow. Next, she mixed Pigment in Platinum and Mixing Medium Shine and applied near the inner tear duct, buffing it into the inner crease of the eye. After applying Mixing Medium Shine to cheekbones to catch the light, she applied Gloss Texture to eyelids. She skipped mascara and mixed lip balm and concealer for the lips. “I’m doing London, but had to cancel Milan,” said Tilbury, who is nearing her due date with a baby boy.
“Donna likes her headbands,” said Eugene Souleiman. “So I decided to make a headband out of hair.” He sectioned hair, leaving a section at the crown free, then wrapped a wide section across the back of the head and used a paintbrush to paint gel all along that section. Next, he blew it dry with a diffuser. He fashioned the crown section into a beehive to finish.
Michelle Saunders, working with Essie, used Spin the Bottle, a peachy-beige, on nails. “The hair’s dramatic, the makeup’s dramatic,” said Saunders. “The nails are easy.”
