At Doo.ri Friday afternoon, Orlando Pita, who was working on behalf of Spirulina by Byron hair products, did a very straight, blown-out down do with blunt ends. The highlight of the hairstyle was the bangs — they were created using Helena Collection hairpieces that were clipped in the front, then blended together with the natural hair with a comb for the all-encompassing straight look.
“It’s very long bangs,” said Pita. “We’re spraying the hair down with [Spirulina] hairspray. It starts to look like it’s their hair.
“The clothes have an elongated silhouette,” he added, “and this continues the silhouette.”
On the makeup side, Tom Pecheux did what he described as a “Jane Birkin meets Patty Smyth” look for MAC Cosmetics.
“Sexy, smoky eyes,” he said, created an air of “sophistication but [also] a light feeling of grunge.”
He spread a dark brown shimmery shade all over the top eyelid and used a green-gray-silver hue on the bottom lid, creating a “falling down” effect by smudging the color.
“The face is transparent,” he said, noting it had a matte finish with contour “for more power.” He added a bit of flash to the tops of the cheeks, bracketing the nose just under the eyes, with a very light matte powder — almost white — for a “stronger contrast without making the eyes heavy.” A nude lip was created with a shade of MAC Viva Glam called ABO. “It’s for every girl to have the same color. A feeling that they’re all wearing Chapstick on the runway.”
