“I am playing with a sexy makeup. I call it a ‘disco queen,’” said Tom Pecheux backstage at Elie Saab, where he was working with MAC Cosmetics. The makeup artist said the look matched house’s fashion collection, which he described as “young, cool, colorful, shiny – and more than anything, really fun.”Pecheux placed the focus on models’ eyes, whose lids were swept with gold-colored shadow. Gold glitter was applied to the inside corner of peepers, while outside corners got a black cat-eye point. Skin was given a glow with contouring and highlighting products. Eyebrows were made slightly darker, and lips were made beige and had a coat of lip gloss.“We are back in the Eighties, Nineties,” said Pecheux, adding that the designer “wanted the girls to look absolutely gorgeous, and with no special effects.”“The hair here is middle-parted, scraped back and with waves in the back. But it’s casually contained,” said Orlando Pita. “It’s not really sprayed down and stiff.” Rather, he explained, it was finger-combed with each model having an individual style.Pita used his signature products, including Full Extent Firm Hold Hairspray and The Great Inflate Air Whipped Styling Foam.
